Easton Dedicates Plaque in Mac’s Memory

Several dozen friends, Karl Stirner Arts Trail (KSAT) board members, and Easton community leaders gathered on Oct. 19 to dedicate the Richard McAteer Memorial Bridge (AKA “blue bridge”) and celebrate Mac’s contributions to the KSAT and Easton community. Speakers included Mayor Sal Panto, KSAT Board Acting Chair Monica Seligmann, and KSAT Executive Director Jim Toia.

The plaque installed at the bridge says, “Dedicated to Richard ‘Mac’ McAteer, the grateful citizens of Easton acknowledge his many contributions to our community. His selfless dedication and unwavering determination was instrumental in the establishment of the Karl Stirner Arts Trail and the redevelopment of the Simon Silk Mill.”

As Mayor Panto said during the dedication ceremony, “Mac built bridges, not walls.”
