6th Annual Winter Solstice Walk on Dec. 21

Two people look at the camera inside Thrive Easton at Silk People gather inside Thrive Easton at Silk during the Fifth Annual Winter Solstice Walk at the Karl Stirner Arts Trail in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Enjoy the sixth annual Winter Solstice Walk event at Thrive and on the Karl Stirner Arts Trail on Thursday, Dec. 21, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

The seasonal tradition will begin with the reading of two new children’s books about the winter solstice at Thrive in Easton’s Silk complex (former Simon Silk Mill), 1247 Simon Blvd., while participants enjoy hot chocolate. Then Jeremy Joseph and his trumpet will musically lead the group across the candlelit bridge to the trail. Following music, there will be a poetry reading about winter and a prose reading about hope and the return of light.

Peter Schmidt is looking for a free-form dancer to perform a piece of their choosing for about three minutes. If you’re interested or can recommend someone, please contact him at pdrkschmidt@gmail.com.

Joseph will conclude the program by playing “Taps.”
