The Karl Stirner Arts Trail invites you to submit poetry for one or more of the monthly themes we’re featuring on our website from June through October.
The theme in September is “Smells of Autumn.”
Send your poems to coordinator Maryann Riker, maryann_riker@hotmail.com.
- Read the June poetry webpage (“Strawberry Moon”).
- Read the July poetry webpage (“Fireflies/Insects”).
- Read the August poetry webpage (“Sounds Fishy”).
Also during those months, KSAT will host Second Saturday Poetry, with local poets composing spontaneous verse on manual typewriters.
Both projects are sponsored by the Karl Stirner Arts Trail Poetry in the Wild Project, which brings poetry and spoken word to the trail. It began with a celebration of National Poem from Your Pocket Day on April 18.
This project is supported in part with funding from the Hotel Tax grant programs through Northampton County’s Department of Community & Economic Development, a Crayola Community Grant, and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, through the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts.
