Lafayette Students Conduct Cleanup

Thirty Lafayette College students recently spent 90 minutes cleaning up a portion of the Karl Stirner Arts Trail. They collected 35 bags of trash as well as some large objects like metal car parts and tarps.

The most interesting finds were half of a driver’s license and an iPad, says organizer Olivia Zoretic, a senior.

“It was a beautiful day on the trail to clean up trash, and the trail was busy with many Easton residents, several of whom stopped to ask us what group we were with or why we were doing this,” she says. “When we told them that it was a student volunteer event, most were surprised and grateful for what we were doing. This alone, as well as the ‘before and after’ of the spots we were able to clean, was so rewarding!”
