Where Art Meets the Outdoors

The Karl Stirner Arts Trail is featured in an online article in The Keystone, “9 places in Pennsylvania where art meets the outdoors.”

Willie Cole's blue Grace Gate depicts a face on the gate as it stands on a sunny day on the Karl Stirner Arts Trail in Easton, Pennsylvania.

The article reports, “The 1.75-mile Karl Stirner Arts Trail winds along Easton’s Bushkill Creek. Named for a popular sculptor from Easton and set along an old rail line, the arts trail is both a sculpture park and recreational trail tying art with the outdoors.

“The trail features works by more than 15 different artists, and they’re not all sculptures. Artists have also painted features along the trail, worked with trees, and even installed musical instruments for visitors to play. The trail also hosts artists-in-residence to involve the community with their trail art projects as well as events like movie screenings and poetry sessions.”
